Justin Flippen Park
The pocket park across from City Hall, named for the town's beloved openly gay mayor.
Justin Flippen Park is small — 0.46 acres — but it carries the town’s heart. The pocket park across from City Hall was renamed in 2020 for Justin Flippen, Wilton Manors’ openly gay mayor, who died suddenly in office in 2020 and whose name the town chose to keep in its front yard.
It earns its keep as civic ground: the annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony happens here, a Children’s Art Project brightens it, and on any given evening it’s a bench, some shade, and a place to watch the Drive go by. Memorials work best when they stay useful; this one does.
