Island City Stage

Professional LGBTQ theater since 2012 — full seasons of work centered on queer stories, made in Wilton Manors.

Island City Stage is the real thing: a professional nonprofit theater, founded in 2012 by members of the local LGBT community, producing full seasons of work centered on the LGBTQ experience. Not a bar with a stage — a theater company with a mission, and one of the few in the country dedicated explicitly to queer stories.

The programming runs from premieres to revivals, staged in an intimate house where nothing separates you from the work. For a town that celebrates queer life nightly on the Drive, Island City Stage is where that life gets examined, grieved, and celebrated in script form — the cultural anchor of the town’s arts scene.

At 2304 N Dixie Hwy it’s two blocks off the Drive. Season and tickets at islandcitystage.org.
