Colohatchee Park
8.5 acres with a 7-acre mangrove preserve, boardwalk over the water, and the town's dog park.
Colohatchee Park is Wilton Manorsβ wild side: 8.5 acres on the Middle River of which seven are mangrove preserve, crossed by a boardwalk that puts herons, mangrove crabs, and actual Florida within a five-minute drive of the Drive. The dog park β permit required β makes it the social hub of the townβs four-legged residents.
The mangrove boardwalk is the draw for humans: a genuine nature walk in the middle of the Island City, best in the morning before the heat. Between the preserve, the picnic shelters, and the dog run, itβs the park locals actually use.
At 1975 NE 15th Ave, open 8amβdusk but closed Tuesdays (the cityβs own pages disagree about Wednesdays β call midweek). Details at wiltonmanors.gov.
