About homotown

Homotown is a friendly, independent guide to the LGBTQ+ places of Wilton Manors, Florida — a small city just north of Fort Lauderdale that packs more queer life per block than almost anywhere in the country. Locals call it the Island City; most people just call it the Drive.

Wilton Manors has one of the highest concentrations of LGBTQ+ residents of any city in the United States. Wilton Drive, its main strip, is lined end to end with gay bars, drag stages, brunch patios, pride shops, guesthouses, and community institutions like the Pride Center at Equality Park. Every June the city closes the Drive for the Stonewall Pride street festival.

This site exists to keep all of that in one place: browsable by category, searchable, and honest. We list places that are LGBTQ+ owned, LGBTQ+ focused, or unmistakably welcoming — written by locals, for locals.

How we verify

Every listing on Homotown was checked by hand in August 2026: open status, address, website, phone, weekly hours, and published happy hours, confirmed against each venue's own site and socials — not scraped from a years-old aggregator. Listings carry a "Verified" badge with the date of their last check, and pages likeTonight and thehappy hours table run directly off that same verified data.

About the vibe scores

The 0–10 "vibe" score on each listing is editorial opinion — ours, not an average of user ratings. We don't accept payment for scores, rankings, or placement, and we mark nothing as a "rating" to search engines. It's one local point of view, offered honestly; your mileage (and your night) may vary.

About the photos

We only publish photos we have the right to use — from the venues' own sites or provided directly by them. Where we don't have one yet, you'll see a "photo coming soon" placeholder rather than someone else's copyrighted shot. Venue owners: send us your press photos at[email protected].
